Bowers & Wilkins P5 Wireless Headphones-Black |
Wireless-black P5 has the look and feel of the headphones higher, with magnificent, sturdy design that was a mix of retro and modern style. For on-ear models, it's a little uncomfortable. At 213 grams, it weighs 18 grams (0.6 ounces) more than P5 cable and comes with a two year warranty.
Headphones managed to close out a decent amount of ambient noise, although for some, headphones may fit too snugly in the beginning and will steam your ears a bit if you wear it outside in the summer. However, you can release some pressure by stretching the headband.
These headphones have ear pads that can be removed and the cable is included so that if the battery dies or if you are not allowed to use Bluetooth on the flight, you have a backup (the connection cable is built into the driver and is accessed by pulling from the left earpad). Cables do not have a remote / integrated microphone, but it's not the end of the world because you do not have to buy it if you plan to use them regularly as a wired headphone.
Battery life is pretty good at 17 hours of continuous music playback. Three buttons on the right earcup allows you to control the volume, skip tracks forward and back and answer the call, there is a built-in microphone and decent call quality.
These headphones offer APTX device that supports Bluetooth streaming APTX.
Achievement
These headphones have the same driver who was in P5 Series cables and they are based on drivers found Bowers & Wilkins top of the line P7, over-ear models.
The wireless version of the profile maintaining the same balanced sound and overall I thought it sounded very good for Bluetooth headphones.
Headphones provide relatively clean, detailed deep voice, the punchy bass and you can listen to a long time without listening fatigue.
In Bluetooth mode, it is not the most transparent (clear) or dynamic headphones, but when you connect the cable, turn on a little thing, with a little more sparkle in the treble and a little bigger, tighter bass.
Headphones certainly sounds more dynamic in the cable mode, which is not surprising considering how hard it is to find a Bluetooth headphone that sounds better than its wired equivalent. But give credit to Bowers & Wilkins have headphones sound as good as in wired mode.
