Nextbook Ares 11 Review

Nextbook Ares 11 Review-The Nextbook Android tablet Ares 11 is unremarkable in every category but the price. It starts at $ 197, exclusively sold at Wal-Mart, and comes with its own keyboard. Running Google's latest operating system, Lollipop 5.0, packing 64GB of internal storage, and offers a lot of ports. This works well for basic tasks like checking email, surfing the Web, and mobile games are simple, as long as they are done one by one. Each activity is more than that and the performance becomes sluggish, providing conservative Android experience.

Nextbook Ares 11 2 In 1

Easily overwhelmed, slow down if several applications open in the background and lag when switching from one application to another. Without the keyboard, Nextbook Ares 11 is outdated and substandard for the most $ 200 tablet. With the keyboard, it is a better deal that provides additional functionality features for students and families alike. However, despite some productivity benefits and lower initial price, performance trivial and very little construction falls short for people looking for an adequate workstation.

Design

The Nextbook Ares 11 don traditional hybrid tablet design. Easy and simple tablet to the keyboard dock only use ports and connectors maintain pogo. When connected, the power LED lights on the keyboard lights up. Plastic keyboard laden definitely feels cheap, but it is not convenient to use. It does not lie very far, up to about 120 degrees, but it was enough to provide an effective viewing angle. When the tablet is attached, the laptop-style keyboard is slightly higher, giving a more feels comfortable angle for typing.

The touchpad is nice addition, giving you an alternative option to navigate using the touchscreen temperamental. Another convenient feature of the keyboard is backlit buttons. The keys themselves are not lit, but the surrounding blue plastic that wraps around they do not, they illuminate for easy typing in dark environments. Blue add a fashionable touch to otherwise drab design, and it gives a good contrast on the keyboard. All ports on the tablet is located on the left bank. From top to bottom you'll find a microSD card slot, micro HDMI port, Micro USB port, AC adapter port, microphone and headphone jack. The keyboard has two USB 2.0 ports, one on each side.

Similarly, all the buttons are located on the upper left corner of the tablet. On the back, you'll find the power button, volume rocker and home button. To distinguish them with the feeling, the power and home buttons are slightly concave and the volume rocker pair of dimples. Nextbook Ares 11 tablet not charging via Micro USB, it comes with its own power cord. The good news is that the cost is relatively fast if you do not use it at the same time.

Features

In addition to keyboard included, Ares 11 is quite simple. It runs on the latest version of the Google operating system, Android 5.0 Lollipop, and it is mostly pure version, with the exception of some unfortunate bloatware. It also ships with a full suite of Google applications to get you started. Packing relatively pure version of Android, Ares 11 hampered by bloatware. Applications include Vudu, Flixster, Barnes and Noble Nook for Android, MusicMaker Jam, and Wal-Mart. You will benefit from Nextbook user guide and FAQ. User guide shows you how to set up Wi-Fi and Google Play, as well as showing how to perform a factory reset. Unfortunately, you can not remove these two apps.

Hardware

The Nextbook Ares 11 specifications quad-core 1.8GHz Intel Atom Z3735F CPU, 1GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage and a microSD card slot expandable up to another 64GB. One impressive characteristic of Ares 11 tablet hybrid is the selection of the port. As mentioned earlier, in addition to the usual Micro USB and micro SD option, the tablet houses a Micro-HDMI port, and the keyboard is full-size packs two USB 2.0 ports. Other features include Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n.

Achievement

Underwhelming performance of Ares 11 not surprising. Additional connectivity make the tablet more flexible than other budget tablets. Both full-size HDMI and Micro USB ports are scarce accommodation in most tablets, especially those that are priced to sell, such as Ares 11. This means you can connect the tablet to your HDTV to view streaming content, or to plug in your flash drive to load the job duties home or your latest vacation pictures. Touchpad respond more quickly and more consistently to the movement rather than a touch screen. Taps often unrecognized, especially if the tablet is busy running two programs.

For effective results, it is better to press the touch screen with some pressure, not just touch it. Keyboard function is not affected when just write an email or on a Google Doc, but the top row of shortcut keys are often left behind in responding. I really found the volume and brightness buttons slow to work if two or more applications running. Rocking a 11.6-inch IPS display with a 1,366x768-pixel resolution, 11 Ares has a traditional 16: 9 aspect ratio. This resolution is not impressively high, but HD content looks clear and sharp, and wide viewing angles polite. Streaming video take time loading and tend pixelated at first, but with a strong internet connection quickly smoothing for crisp HD experience.

However, the range of muted colors and low brightness keep him from becoming one of the better features. In an environment that is very bright, the screen suffers a lot of glare, but the brightness can not rotate enough to offset this effect. Larger game takes a very long time to load, and they tend to be distracted by choppy graphics once loaded. Simple mobile games, surf the Web, read and check emails fine, but if you want to do something more than these activities, you will find severe lag.

The Nextbook Ares 11 works well if you are working on one task at a time, with minimal application open. It can be easily overwhelmed and may begin to slow down if several applications open in the background. Navigation left behind, and the widget can train, especially when it is necessary to maintain a consistent internet connection. Switching between applications takes a few seconds. The front and rear are both a 2-megapixel camera and focus blurred, but otherwise they are good enough to adjust the exposure in bright environments. Anecdotes, tablet lasted about one and a half days with moderate to relaxed. Ares 11, an average of 9 hours of playback, a sufficient amount of time for a solid standard and large tablets.
